Our History
Manitowoc Tool and Machining (MTM) was founded in 1965 under the name Manitowoc Tool and Die and was located at 925 South 29th Street in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. At that location, design and construction of stamping dies along with stamping was the business focus.
In 1980, MTM was relocated to a new facility in Manitowoc’s Industrial Park at 4211 Clipper Drive.
At that junction, MTM diversified into production machining as well as the continuation of the core stamping dies and stamping business. MTM was fortunate to experience continued growth all business units. This led to a substantial increase in the number of employees and numerous additions to the building. MTM added to the facility in 1980, 1983, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2001 and 2004. January 2006 saw the opening of a new, 35,000 square foot facility on nearby Expo Drive to house the stamping and tool & die areas of the business. Additional growth in the tooling, stamping, & fabrication business and additional demand for assembly services led to nine additions to its Expo Drive facility, one in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and the most recent, 12,000 square feet in the Summer of 2021, bringing the total square feet to 200,000.
Excitingly, MTM continues its growth with a BRAND-NEW facility which broke ground in Summer 2022 and recently grew with an expansion in 2024. This facility houses 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space, with growth potential up to nearly 600,000 square feet!
